BHILAWA SEEDS/KYAR BEEJA
Marking nut, also known as semecarpus anacardium, is a plant species that is native to India and Southeast Asia. It produces a fruit that contains a hard-shelled nut, which is commonly referred to as the marking nut or the cashew nut. The cashew nut, which is often confused with the marking nut, is a different species and is safe to eat.
It is believed that marking nut or semecarpus anacardium is beneficial for improving sexual power and increasing sperm count, as well as for treating diseases related to the digestive system and balancing Kapha dosha (कफ दोष) in the body. It is said that no Kapha dosha remains after the fruit is treated with this nut. The red-orange part of the nut is collected and dried in the sun, and it is consumed after it has been semi-dried. However, if consumed in large quantities, it is said to induce abortion. In moderation, it is considered good for the female reproductive system.
This dry fruit is widely used in preparation of sweet made of gum(gondh ke laddu).
